Partner clinics

Our goal is to provide exceptional service to your hospital, your clients and your patients. To achieve this we have elected to develop strong partnerships with a select number of hospitals also dedicated to providing outstanding patient care.

Our business is about expanding your business and adding to the repertoire of services you offer. We do not replace the referral hospital. We will however help you and the clients decide if a patient needs referral to a 24 hour specialty clinic or if we feel we can enhance the experience by providing specialty care in a more personal setting with more direct interaction between the surgeon, you and your client. To us the most important factor is owner education, comfort and support and helping you maintain great relationships while offering the very best of care.

Synergy Veterinary Specialists provides a surgical service within your hospital. We believe surgery is more than just what happens in the operating room. Any surgery performed within your hospital will require an initial consultation with the surgeon scheduled preferably on a day prior to surgery. This initial consultation allows evaluation of the history, lab work, physical findings and radiographs (when appropriate). We meet with the client and discuss options, complications, expected outcomes and post operative care requirements.

We make every attempt to schedule surgery in only one clinic only per day to allow for a stress free experience for all. This allow time for a discussion with the owner both pre and post op and making sure the patient is comfortable before we leave for the day. We supply most of our operative supplies (electrosurgery, suture, implants, instruments).

As we are focused on performing surgery, anesthesia will be administered and monitored by the primary care veterinarian and their team. As part of this team we will make recommendations in regards to anesthesia, pain management and post operative medications however administration, prescribing and dispensing and of these medications remains the responsibility of the primary care veterinarian.

Whenever possible Synergy Veterinary Specialists performs their own recheck examinations. This is especially true of orthopedic rechecks when patient progress, not just the radiographs, is assessed. This allows time for the client to ask the surgeon any additional questions they have in regards to the surgical procedure performed and post operative expectations and directions. We attempt to schedule known rechecks (typically 2 week post op incision recheck and 6-8 week post op radiographs) at the time of surgery to get them on the calendar.

If there are additional visits or issues that need attention we will make every attempt to address them promptly. In some instances this may involve a drop off at your hospital so we can fit it in around other appointments/surgeries. Our goal is to maintain continuity of care and hence we always ask the client to contact you first as you are their primary care provider.

You can always rely on us to communicate if we have had any contact with one of your clients. This is typically in the form of a written log of the conversation sent via email. If there are any concerns we may also call to speak with you. Please always feel you can reach out and speak with us directly if you have concerns about a patient or client.
